I am a big believer in paying attention to the universe (as well as working my arse off).  Crazy things happen when you pay heed.

Tuesday night we were getting ready to grill chicken and I had been jonesing for teriyaki for days.  Couldn’t WAIT for teriyaki.  I opened the refrigerator to look for it and saw bbq sauce.  I’m not a big bbq eater.  In fact, I don’t remember the last time I had it.  My taste buds told me to grab the Famous Dave’s bbq sauce instead.  It was tasty.

Wednesday morning I received some long awaited references from a PR firm I’m interviewing, and they listed Famous Dave Anderson.  I called him up and we chatted about the person in question and then he launched in to what he’s learned being in the business for as long as he has.  I was taking notes like a madwoman because he was tossing nuggets of wisdom left and right.

“Where are you?”  he asked.

“I’m based here in Minneapolis.”  I said.

“No, where in Minneapolis?”

“South Minneapolis”

“What are you doing right now?”

“Right now?!”  I asked, incredulously.  (Not wanting to answer that even though it was 11:00 I was still in my pajamas.  Now before you give me any grief, I always hop out of bed and begin working immediately, saving my bedhead and schmoodgie mascara for my mid-day workout)

“Why don’t you come over at 2:00 today and I can show you a few things?”

Nutty.

It was a great meeting, I got several more pages of notes and the possibility of some synergistic work with his LifeSkills Center.  He is crazy brilliant.  Heavy on the crazy, and that’s the way he likes it.

I think I need more crazy.
